What are White Label Supplement Products?
As a newcomer to the supplement industry you may have heard the term “White Label products” and be wondering what this is. This blog aims to explain the concept, with some examples as to why to consider it for your business.
What is a White Label product?
A White Label product is a product or service that is produced by one company (producer) that other companies (marketers) can then rebrand as if they had produced it. The producers will have a set portfolio of products to choose from and may have some options for packaging, but the branding will be down to the marketers.
How does this work in the supplement industry?
In the supplement industry White Label products are pre-formulated supplements which have been tested and are ready for distribution. Common products include vitamins, basic minerals like Iron and Magnesium, as well as some botanicals like mushrooms. The producer buys bulk ingredients for the products and sells them to lots of marketers. The setup stage is easier as they have been manufactured many times before and optimal machine settings have been calculated.
These products are distinct from Private Label products which are your own formulations that a manufacturer will make for you. If you would like more information on Private Label products then check out our blog explaining them further.
Want to sell your own supplements?
Why would you want White Label products?
As previously mentioned, the producer will be able to bulk buy ingredients which will reduce the initial costs for them. Manufacturers can often get the supplements for a lower up front cost than if you use your own formulation because of this. In addition, the products are pre-formulated, removing the hassle of formulating yourself, or hiring a professional formulator. If you don’t use a professional formulator it can also reduce costs further meaning that White Label products are a great option for startups.
Where can you find White Label products?
Manufacturers often have brochures to send you and product lists displayed on their website, letting you browse the options. If you can’t see a product list, or you have further questions about the products then reach out to the manufacturer and they should be able to assist you.

White Label products are a great option for smaller businesses and startups as they provide an opportunity to reduce costs. Lower initial costs can mean that it is feasible to purchase higher quality products on a smaller budget. You can then use the quality as a selling point to increase your mark up, resulting in greater overall profits.
