Introduction
G&G was founded on some core principles which were the vision of David and Sheila Gaiman, founders of the company. Firstly, that any health product should only contain ingredients intended to help the consumer. Secondly, while profitability is the economic necessity, there is no need to sacrifice quality and ethics in the quest for viability. We are committed to continuing their vision of creating a better world for our children through innovation. One way that we achieve this is through sustainability.
What is sustainability?
While the word is often used, people generally associate it with particular subjects within sustainability as a whole. Sustainability is not just about recycling and energy sources. In an increasingly populated world, factors such as sustainable farming are vital to the continuation of the status quo. If resources are farmed without sustainability in mind then the planet, and the industry, will suffer.
For example, when farming ashwagandha, farmers will commonly allow the fallen leaves to lie on the ground after they fall as they are key to maintaining soil fertility. In farms where the leaves have been harvested for selling, or burned, the health of the plants themselves has suffered. This leads to a worse harvest of the root which is the part of the plant found in supplements.
Our buyers strive to find sustainable, high quality sources for ingredients wherever possible so that the products we manufacture align with our ethos and the future of the supplement ingredient industry is preserved.

What can be done to be sustainable in the supplement industry?
Aside from ingredient sourcing, packaging is also a key part of the manufacturing sustainable supplements. Here at G&G we only stock recyclable packaging and we reuse boxes to keep our waste as low as possible. On top of this, we have a robust recycling policy and have found that combining this with recycling bins in every area has resulted in a huge reduction in our waste-to-landfill by volume.
We manufacture all products to order, including our white label products to remove waste from stock exceeding its shelf life. We have also conducted community activities in the local area such as litter picking which help to maintain the environment that we live and work in.
Premises
We have had our offices refurbished with eco-friendly innovations in the past few years. This makes them not only a pleasant place to work, but a sustainable one too. Our factory is not exempt from sustainable quality and our ISO Class 8 cleanroom is made with clean, renewable energy. In fact, our supplier uses wind and solar energy to provide the only Vegan Society approved energy in the country.
Conclusion
We have always been based in a small town in the West Sussex countryside and we want to work to keep this little slice of green long into the future. Environmental responsibility falls to companies like G&G to secure a better future for our families and the world. David and Sheila wanted to make the world a better place and that vision remains a key part of our identity and always will.
